About Me
Rooted in Experience, Growing With You
A decade of Montessori classrooms, years of outdoor co-ops, and a lifetime of believing in the magic of childhood.
Where My Journey Began
My path to Wilder Roots Collective started long before I ever imagined leading my own co-op. It began in the world of pediatric Occupational Therapy — working in and out of school systems, watching children navigate a world that wasn't always designed with them in mind.
The Beginning
Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Working as a pediatric OT in and around school systems opened my eyes to something that stayed with me: so many children were falling through the cracks. They didn't qualify for services, yet they were clearly struggling — and I knew that sensory integration approaches could benefit all children, not just those with diagnoses. That realization planted a seed that would shape everything that followed.
A Decade of Learning
Ten Years in Montessori Classrooms
I spent the next decade immersed in Montessori environments — working in both pre-primary and primary classrooms. Those years deepened my understanding of how children learn best: through hands-on exploration, meaningful work, and environments that honor their natural curiosity. Montessori gave me a language for what I had always felt intuitively about child development.
Into the Wild
Outdoor Homeschool Co-op in Arkansas
I led an outdoor homeschool co-op for families across central Arkansas — taking learning outside, into the woods and fields, where children could move, discover, and connect with the natural world. It was there I truly saw what happens when you remove the walls: children come alive. Their curiosity is boundless, their bodies settle, and their spirits soar.
Building Community
Studio Work & Alternative Education
I led my own studio at an indoor/outdoor school before coming home to raise my youngest. Along the way, I've done freelance work for various alternative education schools — helping build community, shape curriculum, and bring intentional learning environments to life. Each experience added another layer to my understanding of what children truly need.
Coming Home
Why Wilder Roots Collective
Through all of my research and lived experience, I noticed a gap: there simply aren't enough opportunities for toddlers to learn, explore, and connect. My own youngest was yearning for exactly that — a place to make friends, get messy, and discover the world. So I decided to offer what I know. Wilder Roots Collective is for south Austin families who want a fun, creative, collaborative learning environment for their little ones — rooted in nature, guided by love, and built on years of experience.
